Guardian Carers are a specialist in-home care provider that works with people to find the best and most suitable care for their particular needs. We offer a range of 24/7 services including housekeepers, housekeeper companions and live in and live out care to a wide range of clients including those recovering from illnesses, in poor health or living with conditions such as Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
Our carers are recruited following a full review of your needs, making sure that the people we choose are best placed to help those they support maintain as much independence as possible. To help you feel comfortable and confident with the support our carers offer, we’ll involve you every step of the way, from agreeing just what you want in a carer to being part of the interview process and making the final decision on who to hire.
You’ll work alongside our domestic staffing team, who have over 14 years’ experience in the industry and understand how to design tailor-made support plans specific to your requirements. The team will be there to support you during the planning and recruitment process as well as once the carer is in place. They’ll help you put in place employment contracts, agree hours of work, register with HMRC, and handle any issues that might arise, or when you want to make changes to your support, for example to reflect any changes to health conditions.
Because your safety and security are our top priority, every carer will be fully vetted before they begin working. This includes DBS and reference checks, which - thanks to our bilingual team - can be completed in over 15 languages, meaning you know you are being well looked after by suitably trained staff.
A live in carer is responsible for helping you with personal care, including activities such as cleaning teeth or dentures , if this is required. They can also assist in completing everyday tasks, including shopping, cooking, cleaning and laundry as well as walking pets, and for supporting you to maintain your general health and wellbeing. This might mean making appointments and accompanying you on doctor visits, keeping in regular contact with friends and family, or going with you to social events, ensuring that you remain part of your local community and do not find yourself isolated.
Live in care at home ensures that you are supported in the way that is best for you, be that completing everyday tasks such as shopping which you may otherwise be unable to manage on your own, helping you with their personal care and hygiene, such as bathing and taking medication, or participating in activities that help you to maintain your physical health and wellbeing.
Nutrition is particularly important for well-being and your carer will ensure that meals are planned and cooked in accordance with your dietary needs and preferences. You may prefer to remain at the centre of the action in the kitchen with the carer taking a supporting role as your very own sous chef - the choice is, as always, very much yours.
The carer will also encourage you to do things you enjoy, such as taking part in hobbies or getting out and about. All of this will help you to stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible, as will getting regular exercise.
Let Guardian Carers take the stress and guesswork out of finding the right live in carer for your particular requirements. Contact us today for a complimentary consultation and we’ll talk you through your options and how to start your search.
