Is a private home carer the best option for me?

A private carer for the elderly is someone who takes care of both the household chores that come with running a home and all duties that fall under personal support and wellbeing. They will give you a helping hand where you need it. Private home carers are flexible to your needs and requirements. Your carer would never be angry if you decide to change your schedule or not want to do a particular activity planned, your carer is there to support and assist you with activities you want to do and when you want to do them. You may start with a Part Time carer but over time need more support and move to a Full Time Live In carer, Guardian Carers are able to help you transition between the different types of carers.

At Guardian Carers we understand that independence is key to our care recipients maintaining a good quality of life, which is why our in-home service ensures you are able to live as independent as possible in your home, for as long as possible. Dealing with an illness can be extremely overwhelming and unsettling and we believe there is no place like home when recovering or going through life-altering changes. Guardian Carers provide you with carers with medical training and nursing qualifications to ensure you are able to receive the right support whilst remaining in your home.

There are different types of private home care, Guardian Carers understand each individual is unique and will require different needs which is why we provide an extensive range of different private home carers. Private Home Care can consist of Part Time or Full Time and either Live In or Live Out. We also provide Housekeeper Carers who do a mixture of both household chores and personal care or Companion Housekeepers who are there to share each other’s stories over a cup of tea or accompany you to events.

Private home care can also be available on a temporary basis, for instance, if your current carer has time off, if you have just had an operation and need some assistance while your recover, this is known as Respite care.

With private home care you are able to have comprehensive care at half the price of that in a care home. Private home care allows you to continue to live your life independently, just with some additional support. You would be in complete control and can do what you want when you want to do it, this would not be possible in a care home as you would have to “fit into” their set schedules.
